Preschool Teacher-$20 to $23 DOE and DOQ - 2 Positions available

Job Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for preschool children
    Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.

  • Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play and structured activities.

Qualifications:

  • Teacher Permit Required issued by CTC

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA in a related field with a minimum of 12 core units in ECE/CD.

  • Knowledge of early intervention strategies and techniques

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Infant Toddler Teacher-$20 to $23 DOE and DOQ

Status: Non-Exempt 

Position: Full-time 

 

Required: Teacher Permit + transcripts proving 6 infant toddler units 

 

Definition: 

Under the guidance of the Site Supervisor, the  Teacher provides quality primary care giving for infants or toddlers in a safe and supervised early care and educational setting; Promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development children enrolled in the program; develops individual goals for children; provides screenings and on-going assessment; Follows all agency policies, procedures and other applicable Federal and State regulations to successfully accomplish the Program goals and objectives. 

  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Participates in the overall agency quality improvement process Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge. 

  • Ensure that compliance with Title 22 and Title 5. 

  • Maintains an open, friendly, and cooperative relationship with each child and family. 

  • Encourages each child's family to be actively involved in their child’s development. 

  • Promotes parent-child bonding and nurturing parent-child relationships. 

  • Promotes feelings of security and trust in infants and toddlers. 

  • Talks, sings, and reads to children frequently.

  • Observes children to detect signs of illness, injury, abuse, neglect, emotional disturbance, or other special needs, and reports these signs immediately to the center director or person in charge. 

  • Ability to apply Early Childhood Development theory in daily activities and adapt to the individual needs of infants and toddlers. 

  • Develop and utilize integrated curriculum plans, which reflect mandated elements and components, parental and cultural influences, and promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of infants and toddlers. 

  • Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum into classroom activities to address and meet individual goals for infants and toddlers as identified in their individualized education plans. 

  • Assess individual and group needs, attending to differences in needs and disability issues, specific interests, strengths, and concerns. 

  • Prepare classroom materials to support developmentally appropriate curriculum plans; create and change learning centers and materials as needed. 

  • Communicate regularly with parents, regarding each infant and toddler's progress. 

  • Conduct the required parent/teacher conferences and home visits for assessment and support and to share information on classroom progress and educational strategies at the center and home. 

  • Document baselines, ongoing assessments according to the early learning Program. 

  • Document all significant classroom issues, parent contacts and conferences. 

  • Maintains confidentiality of records and information of staff and families. 

  • Conduct daily meal count. 

  • Check infants and toddlers sign in sheets daily 

  • Perform any duties as needed to meet the requirements and needs of the Program. 

 

Education and Qualifications:   

  • The successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.  

  • Must have an AA in ECE or related field related to early childhood education and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience working with infants and toddlers. 

  • 6 units in Infant/Toddler units (if course has not been completed, it must be completed within the first year of employment).  

  • The individual must possess a current Child Development Teacher’s permit. 

  • Preferred:  BA/BS in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field   

  • Training and experience in the principles of child health, safety, and nutrition.  

  • Experience in infant and toddler assessments, Infant/Toddler Curriculum and 2 years' experience working with infants and toddlers with diverse needs in a center-based program which includes children with disabilities. 

  • Must work as a team player. 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred 

 

Other Considerations: 

 

  • The infant/toddler teacher must be able to perform light physical work and can lift and carry children weighing about 14 to 30 pounds. The teacher must bend, crouch, lift, kneel and complete other light physical activity as they address the student's needs. The person in this position is responsible for maintaining performance under pressure and handling stress in an acceptable way to others and the organization. Assistant Teacher - $19 to $20 DOE and DOQ -10 Positions available

The Assistant Teacher/Floater is the assistant teacher in the full-day primary program. The Assistant Teacher reports directly to the SITE SUPERVISOR. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for supervising the children in the classroom and implementing the activities planned by the Teachers. The Assistant Teacher helps to create a positive learning environment guided by Because Children Matter - Noah's Place philosophies and curriculum. The Assistant Teacher helps identify each child's development needs. The Assistant Teacher communicates well with the other teachers in the classroom and ensures that the classroom environment facilitates a peaceful atmosphere for learning.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily classroom activities and events as planned by   the teacher and guided by the BCM - Noah's Place Early Learning Centers primary philosophy. 

  •  Interacts in a respectful and caring manner with the children by actively participating in their play and learning. 

  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for the children through general housekeeping. 

  • Assists in preparing snacks and lunches. 

  •  Supervises the children in the classroom, playground, and during nap time. 

  • Ensures that all state and local requirements are met for the supervision of the children. 

  • Assumes primary teaching responsibilities in the absence of the Lead Teacher. o Relives other staff members for breaks and lunch when needed.

Whittier Part Time Childcare Team Member $16.00

his is a part time Childcare position in the Whittier Courthouse. 

Part time schedule: In instances where full-time employees are absent or additional staff is required, part-time staff may be called upon to work full shifts or half shifts throughout the day, with the primary schedule being from 12:30 to 4:30, Monday through Friday, with potential for extended hours as needed.

We ensure a secure and enjoyable atmosphere for children, with rooms designed to cater to their interests, such as arts and crafts, imaginative play, reading materials, games, and attentive Child Services Team Members to meet their needs. 

JOB TITLE: Child Services Team Member (Part time) 

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under general supervision from the Children’s Operations Supervisor, the Child Services Team Member is responsible for caring for children in Noah’s Place Child Waiting Room (CWR) in the courthouse. Perform a variety of tasks, such as providing enriching activities in the CWR, provide snacks, overseeing play, and support children with toileting, including changing diapers. Ensure ratios set by the company are always followed and adhered to. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform the duties which include, but are not limited to: 

  • Sign children in and out of the children waiting rooms 

  • Must ONLY release children to authorized adults following agency procedures 

  • Plan, organize activities and implement activities that stimulate children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth. This includes and is not limited to reading to children, and teaching simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, songs 

  • Maintain a nurturing environment to foster healthy development for children birth to 13 years of age 

  • Instructing children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits. 

  • Provide nurturing and responsive care for children. Provide for a child's basic needs. Respond to children in distress and determine the cause of distress. Communicate to the Program supervisor any need for support due to unsafe behaviors displayed by children. 

  • Must maintain visual and auditory supervision of children and always ensure the safety of children. Teach manners through leading by example. 

  • Change diapers if needed and must accompany children to and from restroom. 

  • Dressing children, when necessary (typically after diaper change) 

  • Ensure proper and frequent handwashing (upon arrival, during the time child is in the room, before and after snack, after suing restrooms, etc) 

  • Serve healthy and nutritious snacks on schedule. Feed infants on demand following agency’s infant feeding procedures If requested by parent or child, assist with homework.

About us: At Noah's Place (Because Children Matter, LLC) We provide Child Waiting Rooms in the Court’s service to our communities and a safe, convenient and free space for adults to drop off their children while they attend court hearings or conduct business in our Clerk’s Office or Self Help Centers.

What does a Childcare Lead do?
We're in search of a childcare team member who will act as the main point of contact for all childcare workers, providing guidance and direction. If you have experience in childcare settings such as daycare, after-school programs, or classrooms, along with leadership skills to guide others in creating a thriving childcare environment, then this position is ideal for you.

Primary responsibility of a Lead involves childcare. Leads are responsible for caring for children in Noah’s Place Child Waiting Room in the courthouse. Perform a variety of tasks, such as providing enriching activities in the CWR, provide snacks, overseeing play, and support children with toileting, including changing diapers. Ensure ratios set by the company are always followed and adhered to.

 

The below Lead responsibilities are occasional and are as follows-

 

Lead Responsibilities-

Manage various tasks to ensure smooth site operations, including:

  • Facilitating communication by sorting through emails and disseminating agency-wide communications to site employees.

  • Maintaining regular communication with the supervisor and promptly reporting any site incidents.

  • Coordinating deliveries with supervisors and court officials.

  • Assisting visitors on site and ensuring proper sign-in procedures are followed.

  • Ensuring proper completion of intake forms by all staff and providing training as necessary.

  • Tracking services provided to clients and submitting reports to the supervisor.

  • Conducting regular supply inventories and ensuring adequate stock levels.

  • Addressing any immediate issues or housekeeping matters in the child waiting room.

  • Occasionally traveling to procure necessary supplies for the site.

Floater/Cook - $17-$19 DOE and DOQ

JOB TITLE: Cook/Floater dividing 4-6 hours a day. Part of the time will involve preparing meals for a childcare center. Another part of the day will be designated to relieve teacher staff and/or assist staff. 

Position Summary:  

The Cook works as the center nutritionist in the full day childcare program. The Cook prepares, produces, heats, cooks, and serves a variety of foods from fresh, canned, dry, or frozen states according to set menus and assists in other related tasks in a designated food service production and/or service area. Working between 4-6 hours daily. During quieter periods, will assist the teaching staff and relieve them during their breaks as needed. 

Job Specific Responsibilities: 

COOK 

  • The Cook reports directly to and is supervised by the Site Supervisor 

  • Prepare food daily. Develop and post menus weekly. 

  • Prepares nutritious meals and snacks for enrolled children; prepares substitute items for children on restricted diets. 

  • Distributes food to the classrooms 

  • Practices safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage. 

  • Plans for and purchases food and necessary supplies needed to provide food service. 

  • Maintains verification of food and non-food purchases to meet CCFP (Childcare Food Program) requirements. 

  • In collaboration with the Contracted Nutritionist, develops weekly menus to meet CCFP meal pattern requirements. 

  • Maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen, pantry, and storage areas. 

  • Maintains all food canisters labeled with dates of expiration. 

  • Understands the protocol for serving food for children with allergies, and knowledge of food cross-contamination avoidance. 

  • When applicable, knowledge of proper storage of medication. 

  • Store all food in closed containers before leaving each day. 

  • Clean refrigerator weekly. 

  • Maintain/clean storage closet, drawers, and pantry. 

  • Washes all items and counter tops before leaving each day. 

  • Sweep/light mop kitchen and eating area daily before leaving each day. 

FLOATER 

  • If qualified, assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily classroom activities and events guided by the BCM’s primary philosophy. 

  • Interacts respectfully and caringly with the children by actively participating in their play and learning. 

  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for the children through general housekeeping. 

  • Supervises the children in the classroom, playground, and during nap time. 

  • Ensures all state and local requirements are met for children's supervision. 

  • Relieves other staff members for breaks and lunch when needed. 

  • Communicates well and frequently with the Lead Teachers. 

  • Attend schedule Professional development meetings, staff meetings, and other meetings as assigned 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications and Experience:  

Minimum: The Cook must have at least 2 years of experience preparing food for childcare or similar setting and must hold a food handlers permit or, must obtain the food handlers permit before the first day of work 

Preferred: 3-12 units in Early Childhood Development or enrolled in school. 

  • If the Cook has 3-6 ECE units, they can supervise children in the classroom when/as needed. If qualified as Floater, the Cook/Floater must have at least two years of experience working with children under 3 years of age, preferably in a classroom environment, a high school diploma or equivalent required. 

A current physical and Immunization Records (TDAP, MMR, TB Test, and Flu Shot or personal statement for not taking the Flu Shot). 

Must take the Mandated Reporter Training. 

Complete all required Licensing Forms and employment forms prior to employment. 

Attend all Staff Training/Workshops
